Pools (2017) by Belgian painter Harold Ancart is a series of three-dimensional relief forms made of concrete, then layered with rich colours. Lamenting the lack of pools on one sweltering summer day in New York City, Ancart decides to bring the pool to his studio: “Anyone could afford the space for one, and even if one could not bathe in it, one could still invite their friends to have a drink or a cigarette around the pool.” Now, if only we could bring a sun-soaked lido into our own home office right about now.

Delve into the harrowing world of Żuławski in L’important c’est d’aimer (“That Most Important Thing: Love”), a 1975 cult classic that follows the story of an unhappy actress (Romy Schneider), a passionate love triangle and the violent and unforgiving world of French showbusiness in a patchwork of emotional, figurative and literal narrative. Jamie Beck, an American photographer now living in the South of France, starts a raw and emotional journey of photography as a response to the Covid-19 pandemic, titled #IsolationCreation. Follow her daily undertaking on Instagram Stories, where she creates extraordinary still-lifes, self-portraits and scenarios documenting her daily musings and struggles during this period. All photographs are available as 18″ x 24″ posters, printed on museum-quality matt paper, via her official website. As a way to help other artists impacted by the virus, 10 per cent of all proceeds will be donated to to the Foundation for Contemporary Arts Covid-19 Relief Fund.
