Some names stick around, some don’t. Robert Mallet-Stevens was a contemporary of Le Corbusier, and a major architectural force in his time. His lasting monument is a street named for and built by him in the 16th arrondissement of Paris in which every house is a Modernist idyll. He designed six; among them one for himself at no 12, a live/work for the sculptor twins Jean and Joël Martel (no 10) and the villa at no 26 for the pianist Adèle Reifenberg. Go see it next time you’re in Paris – the street is emblematic of 20th-century urban architecture. And it influenced what we’re wearing. The nearest métro is Ranelagh.

2You guys are amazing, love your work.
I loved reading Living Modern as I have a passion for the cross-over of fashion and architecture. After all, both are part of design! Not to mention le Corbusier is iconic.
